Not a trail run, but a Nature Reserve road run, with unbounded beauty.
Starting in the middle of the Reserve, the route swings past the south western tip of the continent at the Cape of Good Hope, via curious ostriches and eager baboons, through acres of indigenous fynbos and ends at the lawned, beach area of Buffelsbaai, in the tidal pool.
A family outing at it’s best, the race entry fee includes Park entry for the family.
Race starts at 7:15am on the 13th November 2011.
Registration on Wednesday the 9th November at the Tokai forest Arboretum. Registration will be from 12pm to 7pm.
The 5km Fun Run starts half an hour after the main race. Registration for fun run can be done online or on the morning at the Buffelsbay info centre. Entry is R25.
The gates to the nature reserve open at 5:30am. Park entry is permitted for race entrants and the family, and wild cards are not needed for the Cape Point Half Marathon.
Honorary Rangers of SAN Parks will be gracing us with their presence throughout this prestigious event helping to make it a great day for all.
Book online, under the event’s Calendar Entry. Entries start at R150 for licensed runners. Booking Includes park entry. There are branded First Ascent racing tee’s for sale along with your entry at a discounted price. Unfortunately Wild Card entry is not accepted at park gate due to SAN Park sponsorship of entry.
